Once again Stiefvater uses descriptive and flowing prose to create an imaginative and engrossing story as we follow Grace and Sam's relationship as they try and cope with the pack now Beck has changed for good and with the new wolves he created before he went. The addition of new and more brooding characters adds a little more depth to the story and stops the relationship between Sam and Grace taking over completely. However, I once again felt that this relationship went along the typical lines of everything is lovely, then her parents find out what's been going on, aren't happy and try to put their foot down. If it wasn't for the new characters (and Isabel who I love) and Stiefvater's superb writing style this would've fallen flat, instead it still has enough to keep the story interesting and keep you reading until the dramatic (and somewhat bloody) end.
