It took me a while to figure out why I wasn’t feeling positive feelings about this book. This is the 3rd work of fiction I read this month on homesteading in Alaska, so clearly this type of story should appeal to me. I realized I didn’t like the writing style, and something about it made it hard for me to stay engaged with the story.
