Cute start to the series

3.5 stars. I have read this series out of order, so having read two others with our grumpier Agitators, this was a change of pace. Winnie and Pacey meet when Winnie gets her car stuck in mud down the road from the home Pacey and his hockey team best friends are staying in. She ends up staying with the team for a few days and her and Pacey quickly fall for each other.

This is a sweet low-angst romance between two people who don’t have extensive dating pasts. Pacey is kind, protective, a little possessive and patient. Winnie is a little insecure, sweet and easygoing. Pacey gets Winnie to come out of her shell and learn to love and appreciate herself and what it’s like to be in a healthy relationship. It was a very cute love story with some good spice.

Like the others in the series, the friendship between all these hockey players is the highlight of this whole book/series. I love the interactions, the banter between the friends and the love they have for each other. This is one of those books I wish would have a great TV show or movie adaptation just to see these characters come to life.
