Winter's Myths by Gage Greenwood

4.0

This story was wild and sometimes hard for me to follow. From the mouth of the author, you shouldn't know what is going on while reading it. From my experience, the point is to just go along for the ride as they fight to survive.

This one took me a while to get through this one as I tend to get confused and sidetracked when the flow of a book isn't quite the norm. However, it was a fun book to read. I listened to the audio book, and the narrator did an amazing job keeping me attentive.

We follow Winter and his 2 daughters, Violin and Candlestick, through their journey on the surface of the post-apocalyptic Earth for their first time. I loved that they didn't know what simple things were. It was so fun to see them learn and adapt to their new surroundings. Along the way, they made enemies, friends, gained new family, and a pet.

Throughout the story, Winter tells stories to the kids about a war between Gods, Goddesses, and demi-gods. It makes you wonder if it'd about something actually happening or that happened and if it's all connected somehow to them.

Gage did an amazing job creating this world, and I look forward to reading the sequel, Winter's Legacy.
