scrooge3 's review for:
Low, Vol. 3: Shore of the Dying Light
by Rick Remender
This is a transitional volume in the series; in other words, don't read this one before volumes 1 and 2, and don't expect any kind of resolution. What this volume does is provide some twists to the story and introduces some new and powerful roadblocks to the characters' journeys to save mankind. Stel finally makes it to the surface, but what she finds is pretty mind-boggling. Meanwhile, Della and Tajo's difficulties in reuniting with Stel take some surprising turns. This is a volume filled with figurative and literal back stabbing. No one is safe, it seems. I just hope the next volume comes out soon!
The artwork gets better with each volume. Tocchini and McCaig combine their layouts and colors to create visuals that are interesting and complementary to Remender's writing.
