Life of Pi by Yann Martel

3.0

This book is about as thought provoking as they come, it creates an incredible environment where the reader is left to question it's credibility for themselves. Yet it is done so in a way that makes this highly unusual situation very believable. The story itself is an interesting somewhat philosophical tale of a boy stranded on a lifeboat with various zoo animals. My only knock down from full stars would be the ending as I felt a little dissatisfied with how the story was left as we wanted the storyteller 'Pi' to defend his story's credibility and instead it seemed rather mundane. However this was most likely the point by the author and fitted with the more philosophy centre of the book. It is a book that cannot be put down as the reader always wants to know just what is going to happen next in such an unusual situation and certainly worth the read.
