Compost Science for Gardeners: Simple Methods for Nutrient-Rich Soil by Robert Pavlis
informative
medium-paced
5.0
Pros:
- science based gardening info!
- lots of different options for big and small gardens, little to a lot of effort methods, and indoor vs outdoor gardens
- so many books like to insist that there is one "right way" to do things, especially in the realm of gardening, but Pavlis very rightly says the "right way" is the way that works for you and I appreciated it greatly
- there were a ton of "gardening myths" inserts that combated common gardening myths and they were very informative and helpful!
- the writing is very accessible; this is definitely a great starting point for beginners!
- Pavlis also gives resources for further research, and even a Facebook group that he is personally in, and I can confirm he's very active and answers almost any question posed to him in it!
Cons:
- there is some repetition of information, but the book is very short so it didn't get irritating
Overall:
This was a great, dense book filled to the brim will all the necessary information to start composting on any scale. Definitely recommend!
