The audiobook recording makes this book great! It's a true duet (Male Narrator does all the male voices eve in the FMC's POV and vice versa). This in my opinion is the only way books should recorded.
Otherwise this is your regular dark BDSM-ance:

"He falls first"
"He's a 10 but he stalks her"
"She's a 10 but she likes CNC D/s BDSM"
"He believes in aftercare....with sedatives"
"We're rich so education is performative*"
Only complaint is that it's supposed to be "dark academia" but it's only set at a college and the characters are college-aged. To me "dark academia" is anything between Harry Potter and the Magicians and I know Die Hard is a Christmas movie. So the characters just skipping class and getting a "sit -in" to finish the semester just took me out of the "fantasy" 😔.
