I am so fascinated by the 'studied medieval or early modern english' to 'becomes a children's fantasy author' pipeline so this book was right up my street. On the whole I liked the pacing of it, it did perhaps move a little quickly for my liking, but in the context of a children's book, I think it was perfect.
