This book made me so irrationally angry, I’m so sorry. The constant conflict over whether or not the main character should be true to her family or found family had me so frustrated. Mostly because the turmoil felt so.. flat. The reasoning for one side over the other always felt so much stronger one way and it didn’t even seem like it should be a question. The lead characters own brother didn’t believe in their cause. And at every turn she learned something more awful about her family. AND the lead character had an ally who believed her good intentions on the found family side. So she would have had someone to corroborate her story with had she come forward. The way each unfolding of the plot had me punching at the air in frustration. I have to see it through to know how it ends, but this series just isn’t for me.
