Elven Star by Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman

2.0

This was interesting and I enjoyed the characters and the storyline I guess. However, I hate that I get immersed in the characters and their lives, and then that's the end of it. The only consistent character, Haplo, is a jerk and I don't like him or care for him. I dont know if we will revisit these characters later in the series, but it does not seem likely due to the large number of "worlds" in relation to the number of books. Also, I know it was just small jokes, but the references to real-world, non-book events and people were awkward and felt out of place. I definitely rolled my eyes a few times.
The relationships were also a bit weird. I know Disney has made it's magic on love at first sight, but the romances were awkward and I'm not sure how they happened. They just kind of appeared out of nowhere, and then somebody is kissing somebody and they walk away and act like they kissed to insult each other. What? That's weird.
