Silver Nitrate
by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Childhood friends, the Golden Age of movies, race/skin bias, Aryan occultists — this book packed a lot into it. I especially enjoyed Montserrat and Tristan (The childhood friends, now middle aged) and their relationship. As the story progresses, the story gets more complicated and unhinged, but in a really enjoyable way. The final chapter felt a bit tacked on, but I understand the urge to “tie a bow” on the whole thing.
