An enjoyable read! As someone who is into all things macabre, this was right up my alley. This is the first book written by Doughty I have read, and I certainly see myself checking her other works out.
I liked the way it was done, and the illustrations were amazing. Sometimes I felt this wasn’t exactly marketed to a wide variety—being she did make this for younger audiences. Overall I liked her writing style as it felt very natural. It was as if we were having a conversation!
Four and a half stars purely for the vibes and things I learned. Would have been a five star read if some sections were shorter and others longer.
