Battle Ground by Jim Butcher
4.0

Okay so I'd give it 5 stars but the battle drags a bit--or I was impatient--either way, Butcher could have shaved off a bit. It felt less balanced than other books of the series, yet there was way more at stake too. I was starting to expect a big supernatural revelation รก la True Blood.

Lingering villainy of Nemesis, Marcone, etc look to make the next installment very interesting. Did not see the twist with Namshiel coming at all. While I'm sad that Murphy is gone, I know the pairing has been doomed since Susan. The only girl in his life is his daughter & the only woman is Man since he's not in the driver's seat for most decisions. I miss the smaller world of Chicago from the early books, but the expansion of Harry's roles in many of the different communities makes things more interesting. My favorite will always be the pizza army.
