Weapons of Disharmony by Chad Retterath

5.0

Picked this up at the Twin Cities Book Festival and it may just be the best book I've read this year! I was intrigued by the description, as the idea of Titans roaming an earth alongside humans was not something I've come across before. It definitely avoids the rather stale tropes that a lot of high fantasy suffers from.

Some people have mentioned they feel the pacing is off or that there are too many characters to keep track of. Everyone has their own preferences, but I will say as someone who reads a lot of long epic fantasy and space opera series I did not find that to be the case for me personally. The story was engaging from the start and I enjoyed the entire journey. Yes, there are a lot of characters, but there's a map and character reference at the beginning of the book, so I didn't struggle to keep track of them.

This book exceeded my expectations. I found myself looking forward to reading it every night and having a hard time putting it down. I'll definitely be reading the next one in the series!
