I've read the ebook of this but wanted to give the audio a try.
This was sooo good (it was really hard to turn off my headset when I had to). I can confidently say this is my favourite isekai cultivation fantasy. Now it's also the only isekai cultivation fantasy I've read but that's beyond the point!
This is the story of someone from our world who gets pulled into another world, looks around and says NOPE, I don't have time for any of your s*** and just decamps to the quietist corner of the land he can find to become a farmer with what he remembers. The land has been abandoned and needs a lot of love but he did take some of the 'holy spiritual herbs' with him and he does feed them to his animals.
And some of the animals become self aware.
Including the titular chicken.
And the animals start their own cultivation pathways.
There's a very sweet love story on the side (as well as Jin being pretty much oblivious to a lot of things around him... including him thinking that he's not really that strong). I think one of the things I like about this is that Jin's not perfect (and Bi Di has his fall from grace). In a way I really adore Chun Kee. The interlude where we hear his voice was so sweet.
I'm definitely going to continue listening to this as I think I preferred it to the eBook.
