The story of Lark and Eric. The way I continue to devour Jenny Jones’ books is *chefs kiss* I need book three! 🩷🩷
Spoiler alerts ‼️ (These are just my opinions 😊)
this is an age gap, he falls first, with an accidental pregnancy that is done very very well. They hook up and Lark doesn’t think it’s going to be anything other than a one night stand type of situation. Little does she know that Eric is basically obsessed with her from the first night. I ate up every bit of this story.
Lark and Eric are such a cute couple when then just let themselves love each other. I love that they have those silences that are beautiful and don’t need to talk, they are communicating through the silence. How he takes care of her (the closet and live setup 😍😍)
The bubble bath scene.
Lark has lived her life with so many walls up that she doesn’t quite know how to let him in. I could have definitely not been paying attention, but I’m not sure if it really explains why she’s soo guarded. I mean I know there was the whole thing between Wren and Eric because he was trying to get to Lark, but Wren and Eric didn’t really seem that serious (I also cannot fully remember the first book off the top of my head. Please don’t judge me. I should have reread first. Will not make that mistake for the next books!) I do think the third act breakup was a little on the dramatic side. While I do understand the feeling of a women popping up on you mans screen, I don’t feel like she had a ton of room to be upset as this guy was constantly telling and trying to show her in his own way that he only wanted her. He proposed albeit not the best time lol, and I do agree that actions speak louder than words, but he was trying in his own way lol so it was a little over the top for that part for me personally. And I did feel she was a little harder to connect too because she wanted to be so closed off and yet her heart and body wanted the opposite. So I feel like the battle was more within herself, than trying to believe Eric and let him in.
