I have finished Apex Magazine 145. My favorite is “A Lullaby of Anguish” by Marie Croke. Marie took the cake with this story. The cruelty of children is always intriguing. The second best is "Loss Prevention'' by Pamela Rentz. Of course, I also fear auditors at work. Therefore, my compassion was for the protagonist of the story. “The Owl” by Stephen M.A. was unfortunately not understandable, because there were only pronouns instead of names. Thus, I lost track of the actors. The topic himself, the rejection and exclusion of queer people, is of course important. “Auxiliary, Supplementary, Inessential” by Christi Nogle was also not understandable to me. The rest of the stories are awesome.  “Growing Swirling Clouds” by T.K. Rex is a very sad story because of the loneliness of the old lady Margaret. This story is worth reading.
