This Gothic thriller was beautiful retelling of the Fairytale Bluebeard. I wanted to read this book because of Charity Rau's fairytale challenge I am taking part of this year. this was a pretty straight forward retelling of the original fairytale and I enjoyed this book. This is not a common fairytale this was a great opportunity to learn more about the fairytale.  This book reminds me of Rebbecca by Daphne Du Maurier, with the wife being made to feel not worthy by the staff...... My biggest complaint of the book is Marianne's sister..... I Hated her and wanted bad things to happen to her all through the book. Even with the redemption of this character I still hated her.....
