A sweet and charming story with an absolutely incredible setting. I’ve always been a fan of the “city girl moves to a small town” trope, and this one delivered on all the cozy, feel-good vibes I love.

Duncan is such a thoughtful and funny MMC, truly a sweetheart. The side characters were a delight as well; they quickly became Bex’s little found family, which added warmth and heart to the story. I enjoyed the dynamic between Bex and Duncan, but I wish we had gotten to go a bit deeper. It felt like we only scratched the surface of their connection.

The ending came a sooner than I expected. I would’ve loved for the story to take its time before diving into the miscommunication conflict. Overall, I found myself wanting more. More pages, more emotion, and maybe a few answers about Fergus’s backstory too!

This is a cute, fast-paced read, and the Scottish setting alone will transport you. While the story didn’t completely sweep me away, I still enjoyed it overall.

Thank you Hannah Lynn, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC, this is my honest review.
