Accepting the Lance by Sharon Lee, Steve Miller

5.0

I admit it. I adore Miller and Lee. Honestly, the books just keep getting better, giving long-time readers new understanding of the universe they have built and the characters they have created.

In Accepting the Lance, Clan Korval has its hands full rebuilding trade networks and building new alliances after the Department had them banned from their home planet of Liad. While most of the Department is in disarray, there are still solid threats to be dealt with. If that wasn't enough, old threats resurface to threaten the very universe. Space Opera is one of my all-time favorites, and the books in this series delivers each and every time.

If you are new to their series, I would start earlier in the list of titles--the last few have been complex. The author's website suggests the following titles for those entering their universe: Agent of Change, Conflict of Honors, Local Custom, Scout’s Progress, Balance of Trade, Fledgling, Crystal Soldier, Necessity’s Child, Dragon in Exile, Alliance of Equals. Grab any of them and settle in for a great read Once you read one of these, you will be hooked for life.
