I really didn’t see how Chloe could possibly top book 2 for me, but then she introduced us to Axel and Rooney’s love and i was crying, squealing, laughing and yelling throughout and couldn’t get enough.
I absolutely am a SUCKER for a marriage of convenience trope + forced proximity so i mean i was sucked in from the very beginning. I adored learning more about Axel and the reasoning behind why he is so quiet and misunderstood. I adored his character and he truly may be my favorite Bergman brother now. His interactions with Viggo were the best. Finding out he is reading romance novels.. i couldn’t deal.
Rooney is just the sweetest sunshine. She was everything that Axel needed before he even needed it! Their banter was so funny and the way she interacted with Skyler was so sweet too!
I really dislike miscommunication / third act breakups but this one didn’t bother me because it was an understandable miscommunication between them and it didn’t drag on and i truly think both of them needed it to get to where they ended.
THE REPRESENTATION IN THIS BOOK IS OUTSTANDING.
Basically, immediately read this book. Don’t sleep on the Bergman universe. Chloe… you’re a writing wizard. that’s all.
