Really unexpected! A page turner for sure! The twists and secrets revealed had me shook! The pining and groveling was real y’all. It was more like a third act breakup, but they weren’t really together to begin with. Rian’s father gave me the ICK! So far I still don’t know how I feel about Rian. He’s still a mystery character. He could turn out to be a vicious king that uses people for his gain, but he could also be true friends with Basten. I can’t really tell yet. I’m loving Sabine’s character development and how far she’s grown from trying to free herself from captors. I really hope she gets her freedom like she deserves and I want to see more of her powers come into play. The cliffhanger though, I freaking can’t wait till the next book!
