Wow. I could not put this book down.
I’m generally very good at picking up on twists in stories. But this book had me led by the nose the entire story, until the final twist grabbed me by the throat. The pacing was relentlessly fast, and while there was some amount of “oh my gosh why are you so dumb” on the part of the main character, the conclusion to the story was so surprising and satisfying that I had to give it 5 stars.
And honestly, I lovethe idea of Tom and Daisy gallivanting off to become murder vigilantes. The good ending for everyone? Those two are fucked up beyond belief but maybe they’ll be okay together. One can only hope.
After reading a massive chunk of fantasy and sci fi series, this thriller standalone was a needed and welcome break. I would definitely read more of the author’s work.
