Where Death Meets the Devil by L.J. Hayward

5.0

This book surprised me in a very good way. From the first chapter, it was gritty, and packed with suspense and action. The dual timeline made sure I had no idea what was going to happen next, gradually revealing the pieces of the puzzle and keeping me on the edge of my seat. So, A+ for the plot.
Next, the characters. I liked Jack, but I think most readers will agree with me when I say that Ethan is the one who makes this book truly stand out. An assassin with hidden depths is always nice, but Ethan Blade is just something else. I was practically squealing with joy every time he appeared. That man is just so damn cute. Y'know, for an international assassin. And he has a freaking CAMEL, guys. Enough said.
The chemistry between the two MCs was off the charts, there was just the right amount of scorching-hot sex scenes... Damn, it's been a while since I've enjoyed a book so much. I'm off to read the rest of the series!
