The Layover by Lacie Waldon
2.5
For a book so pretty, it's pretty stupid.
I mean, some parts are redeemable but there's not much of swoon-worthy romance.
The main character is so annoying and intent on lying to herself. She never stands up for herself. It's why I admire Gen so much for saying what we all thought.
The entire book seems like a self-insert by the author. There's way too much talk about how airplanes work and what being a flight attendant is like instead of actual plot.
The pacing is quite slow for such a small book. I expected more.
I'm never this mean about a book, I'm just frustrated because this had so much potential. Love the cover, though.
