Inferno by Dan Brown

5.0

"Would you kill half the population today in order to save our species from extinction?"

I wanted to read the book because of two reasons: 1) It's Dan Brown's new Langdon book & I'm sure it'll be amazing. 2) There was an issue here in the Philippines about that bit regarding Manila but I personally cannot care any less because those things do happen, but not all the time of course.

It was a great book! I like how throughout the book it makes you think. Not only about the storyline, but also of the truth about the world's population. It's true that overpopulation is one of the world's greatest problems. I like how Dan Brown addressed in problem in a this way. Such an amazing writer. Anyway, it really does tell the readers of what may happen and can happen in the near future. Yes, we should do something about it; and yes, education and contraceptives no longer make a BIG enough difference.

But wait! Is overpopulation really true? Is the human race really headed for disaster? Although this book is fiction, it may also serve as a wake-up call for us to start caring, whether the overpopulation issue is true or not. "Only one form of contagion travels faster that a virus, and that's fear." Perhaps that the point. We were given this wake-up call so we'll care, or else. That's the fear part. What will happen if the numbers kept growing and multiplying faster than before and only a low percentage of the people cared? Will we really need to have a virus similar to the book? Will we feel the need to have a plague?

Ahhh I love books like these. It makes you think about life, the future, world problems, and all that stuff. It keeps your mind occupied for a period of time. Even though I love tear-jerker romance novels, it's nice to get a break from those and read books like these. Hahaha okay I'm sorry if my review confused you or annoyed you in any way, I am simply a fifteen-year-old girl stating her thoughts. If my review's messy, then that's probably because my thoughts are messy as well. :P

Great book! 5 stars. :)
