I honestly had no idea what to expect going into this book. I had never heard of it prior to book club. It hooked me off the get, but as it went on I just felt like I was going in circles. 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. Getting to the end I felt that everything that happened "three years later" could've just not been included. That is where I feel that the epilogue should've been placed. All in all, I would've enjoyed the book slightly more if it were roughly 200 pages shorter. For that, I have to deduct 1.5 stars.
You see the 4 star rating and see that the math doesn't work. Well thats because I had to add half a star due to the emotional response this book elicited. As my friend said, "The Tearsmith be tearsmithing".
