I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but found this one fell flat for me. The romance lacks....something. I never felt like the author dug deeply into her characters and the whole thing came off a bit superficial to me. This was one of those books where I would read a few chapters, put it down, come back an hour later and struggle to recall what I had read previously. Things did pick up a bit, and smooth out, for me once the couple lands in Russia - but considering how much I enjoyed the first book, this one was kind of a downer.
