Glow of the Everflame by Penn Cole
4.0

Getting through this book had me in the same conflict Diem had to face. Sadly I’m not convinced I made the right decision. I can’t let my full on hatred for her sad excuse of a personality, hate this book because the world itself is worth reading about. The things we missed in the first one are actually coming through in this book. And I’ve LOVED it, even after a disappointing epilogue again.

I may have brain damage after rolling my eyes for the first 30% of the book and then occasionally in the rest of the 70% of the book for every thought Diem had but…

“You are the fate my heart was spared for. As long as it beats, you will never fight alone.”

MOVE OVER SAD EXCUSE OF A MAN aka Henri and make way for Prince Luther. Every word and action that man does in this book (except for the challenging) is pure entertainment. We finally get some longing between the two even though I question his taste in women.

“We do not fear the flames, for the hotter we burn, the higher we fly.”

I can’t wait for the next part unless every Descended now lost their power because that would make the final battle at least cool. I think we deserve an epic battle after the glimpses we’ve gotten. Also kinda wanna see Henri get killed, preferably by Luther.

Ps. We FINALLY know where Diem gets her questionable choices from: her mom.
