Steve Jobs
by Walter Isaacson
I'm not a big fan of biographies, so reading a 600+ page one is a tall order. Reading this biography proved to be nearly impossible for me as Steve Jobs is probably the least likable man I've ever read about. He's not terrible in the way a killer is terrible, but he comes across in a strange way more unlikable than one. He's intentionally callous, whinny, vain, ridiculous, unfeeling, and cries when he doesn't get what he wants. I've had more joy reading true crime novels than I had reading this biography. This could all be forgiven if I found his life or accomplishments to worth 600 pages of my life, but I simply didn't find the history of Apple or how he helped design the computer interesting. People idolize this man and his genius, but this biography didn't leave me with any positive feelings towards Jobs.
