Batman: Year One by Frank Miller, David Mazzucchelli

4.0

How exciting it must have been to read this comic book off the stands when it first came out ! Beyond being a classic street-level Batman tale, Year One was the promise of a rebirth, a total revamp of the universe of the caped crusader. A promise made to the avid comic-book readers that loved "The Dark Knight Returns", which certainly was a good surprise. And a much darker take on Batman.
I expected the book to be longer, and I wanted Frank Miller to be more explorative of the the Gordon/Batman relationship but I enjoyed Year One greatly.
