Yours Truly was incredibly enjoyable to read! The characters were hilarious, and I loved their dynamic. Jacob was so perfect that his fictional nature was obvious, but it didn't bother me. Their banter and back-and-forth were funny and cute, and their support for each other was heartfelt. Like Jessica said, Jacob is a wonderful man.
Regarding what I didn't like:
After a certain point, it felt like the characters kept misunderstanding each other, which could have been resolved with a simple conversation. It became tiresome, but I understand both had some form of trauma.
Here's what I'm not sure about:
The unplanned pregnancy. I didn't expect the story to take this route given the short amount of time the characters knew each other. The mom was right; with two doctors, how did this happen? - References to TikTok and current lingo really date the book. Every time a current reference came up, it threw me off and took me out of the story. It almost felt like the book had product placements for TikTok.
Overall, I really liked this book! It touched on heavy topics, while also giving you scenes to swoon and belly laugh at. It’s a great one to read with friends.
