Sisters by Raina Telgemeier
5.0

I love family. I am blessed to be extremely close with my family and with my brother. My mom is best friends with her two older sisters, teaching us about the meaning of family. I love how this story is based on a true story in Raina’s life.

Raina goes on a road trip with her family, getting fed up with her sister and not understanding why her dad isn’t driving with her, her sister, her mom and her brother.

If you are a graphic novel fan, you REALLY need to read Raina’s books! Sisters was so great. The art is amazing, I connected to young Raina and her relationship with her sister. I have one younger brother and we fought all the time as kids but eventually I realized that he was a built in friend. And to this day we are good friends.

Like some of the other graphic novels I have read lately, this one too does a great job of starting to talk about the more difficult topic of separation and the possibility of divorce. I really enjoyed this book.
