A Song for Quiet by Cassandra Khaw

3.0

All the stars are for the prose. The prose was excellent, and I really liked how the story ended. Go, Deacon, you did so well, king.

I have a personal qualm with written stories that involve a lot of music —while the terms and descriptions used couldn't have been better (there is some absolutely breathtaking writing here!), to me, some things are meant to be heard rather than written down. Stories about music are not my jam. If they are yours, this little book will be a remarkable treat.
