I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
I have mixed feelings about the title story. I admire the complexity of it and its potential for analysis. I think it's very creative and I'm disappointed that it isn't longer, since there is potential to delve into the history of that world or the characters' backstories. I personally wasn't a fan of the writing style, but that is just a "me" thing. Also, that title slaps.

What I had a really hard time getting past was the overwhelming misogyny. The way the narrator describes the only woman character made my skin crawl. Also, that character's torture method was just... gross. I wish I could rad the other stories but I do not feel comfortable reading more violent descriptions against women.
