The Maid's Diary
by Loreth Anne White
Exciting, twisty psychological thriller
This story is told from the perspective of many different characters, including: Kit, a maid with a snooping problem; Mal, a homicide police officer; Daisy, an affluent pregnant woman; and Jon, her former Olympian husband. Mal is called to a grisly scene at the home of Daisy’s friend; there is blood everywhere but no body. The homeowners are gone, the maid is missing, and the only witness is an elderly neighbor who heard a woman screaming. As the novel progresses, we realize how the character’s are connected and that many things are not what they seem. I did figure out the major twists before they were revealed, but I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down.
