This was a read for one of my work book clubs - I had never heard of Elin Hilderbrand or her books about Nantucket so this was fully new to me. It took me a while to be hooked into the plot (ngl I was way more interested in the daughter Kacy’s love life than the other character lmao) but I ended up finding it interesting enough. The setting of Nantucket feels like its own character at times and the author’s love for her home definitely shines through. This did feel throughout like it was written by a white author with Diversity in Mind, and critiques on class difference were not as striking as they could have been with this setup. I’m not sure if I’d read another book in this series but apparently most of them are better than Swan Song so who knows? also damn am inspired to throw a good party now … blond sharon u have my heart
