The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood

2.0

I thought the quality of the writing was really poor, and despite having almost exclusively female protagonists it was very clearly written by a man about stereotypes he knew about women which kept taking me out of the story. I also thought the exposition and dialogue were really clunky and characterisation was uneven. It was fine but definitely not as good as the Thursday murder club it is so obviously copycatting, and certainly leagues away from Christie. I genuinely don’t think I’d recommend it to anyone hence the low rating, but it wasn’t abjectly terrible, just not worth the time.
