The story was gripping and I wanted to finish it even though the plot didn’t really surprise me.
What annoyed me is that the book reproduces prejudices against mental disorders and especially psychiatric hospitals without offering a critical framework or explicitly distancing itself from them. The same applies to fatphobia.
What I’m about to say is just a personal preference, but I didn’t enjoy how much emphasis was placed on how attractive and good-looking everyone was—especially the men—and how the female characters seemed to treat being desired by men as the most important thing in their lives.

Minor: Child abuse, Fatphobia, Sexual content, Violence, Murder, Schizophrenia/Psychosis
The unnecessary fatphobia really baffled me.
