Sisters of the Snake by Sasha Nanua, Sarena Nanua

4.0

This was a really refreshing YA fantasy since South East Asian culture is often overlooked in the genre. A take on the Princess and the Pauper, it weaves the story of two girls fighting to save themselves from their lives while the threat of the kingdom falling into disaster looms over both their heads. The magic system was very creative, although I wish more time would have been dedicated to building it up and showcasing it, although I'm guessing the author is waiting for that in the next installment.
