Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers

This book is heavy and it goes to the roots of our loneliness and insecurities and brings out feelings you would rather keep buried while also giving you some love and romance to make you smile.

This book perfectly shows how relationships can be complicated and messy and how love isn’t a cure all. It explores how hard it can be to reach out and ask for help and reveal ourselves even to the ones we love.

This book has carved a place in my heart and will probably be there forever because of how seen I felt in certain parts as someone who struggles very much with her mental health. I often feel lost and like nothing I do will be good enough, and seeing Grace go through so many of the same things as she tries to find herself again hit me very hard.

This book is raw and vulnerable and lets you into the deepest, darkest thoughts that Grace has and it’s beautiful to read it and her journey.

To end on a happier note, I love the queer found family in this book and it is one I hope to have some day! I also really loved the ending - it was just so perfect and it made my heart so happy.
