Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

3.0

I still think it's wild that 100+ pages of this ebook were actually chapters from the next books, [b:Ruin and Rising|14061957|Ruin and Rising (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #3)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1392398530l/14061957._SX50_.jpg|19699754] and [b:Six of Crows|23437156|Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1651026021l/23437156._SY75_.jpg|42077459] because I got to the afterward & acknowledgements, wondering what the heck was left if I was only a little over 50% of the way through...!

In Siege and Storm, Alina comes into her own power, both literally for the small science and figuratively, learning leadership and diplomacy from new favorite character the Pirate Prince boy (yeah, I know he has a name but figured I'd leave it off in case people read my review who haven't gotten to this one). We're starting to accrue our found family, y'all~

I suspect Mal is the romantic end game and I'd really like him to, I dunno, be cognizant of Alina's circumstances and that she is trying her best. But, they're both teenagers so that might be a tall ask.

the weird thing about including five chapters from the next book is that it makes the ending feel less abrupt, and maybe those cave chapters should've been here? I dunno!
