I was mostly interested in this book because I had read about how the stories in it influence so many other writers, from Wales and elsewhere. And it's true-I definitely saw the influences in Lloyd Alexander's The Black Cauldron, Stephen R. Lawhead's Kind Raven books, and Gerald Morris' The Knight's Tales, and Tolkien's Silmarillion. And there are probably more, those are just the ones I recognized right off the bat. As stories themselves, some are super interesting, some are less so (looking at you, Rhonabwy's Dream, which is the classic case of someone telling you their "interesting dream" that is actually boring and pointless). Also, a bunch of them are about King Arthur's knights, if that's a thing that you're into.

My favorites-The Four Branches of the Mabinogi, especially Manawydan, son of Llyr; Lludd and Llyfelys; and Geraint and Enid.
