The House of Rumour by Jake Arnott

4.0

This book was definitely not what I was expecting. It combined beautiful writing and intelligence with a complex and intricately thought out plot. This book was definitely more plot-driven than chacter-driven. The story, the motion of events and the constant questioning and confusion between reality and fiction proved to make for a compelling story. I really enjoyed both the allusions to reality which made the plot almost convincing. It was a little too confusion for me at times (the progression of the novel was non-linear at points) but it only added to the enjoyment of the book. I definitely hope to re-read this!
