The Runaway King
by Jennifer A. Nielsen
I’m going with my husband’s thought process on the rating of this series. He said that any book that he couldn’t put down was a 5 star book. This one is getting high marks for its devourability (not a real word, but I’m going with it.) It’s getting 5 stars for being a book that I inhaled, that I started immediately after finishing the first in the series, and for being one that I read instead of doing life for a day.
I love the main character. He has so many layers and you just want to root for him. This series has the good things about a YA book: all of the plot-driven action and interesting characters, without any teen angst or Feelings (with a capital F).
Of course, this book perfectly sets up the third, so I am off to start that one. Apparently, I am reading this whole trilogy this weekend.
