Colden is extremely fearful-avoidant, with the extremely low self-image that comes with it, and is an absolute ass to everyone for most of the story.  If you can relate to a character who has more emotional baggage than an airport luggage carousel, and snaps at everyone who tries to be nice, then you may enjoy this story far more than I did.
