The Martian by Andy Weir
5.0
I loved this book! I am a little late to jump on The Martian band-wagon, but am so glad I finally read it. I debated knocking off a star because of the few times I felt a little bogged down in all the science, but really it just made me more impressed with this character! Mark Whatney was an incredible character. Not only was he brilliantly smart, as you expect astronauts to be, but he had an amazing sense of humor, a drive to live and a unique way of thinking out of the box. I cannot imagine living in complete isolation for a month here on earth, let alone a year and a half on Mars!
The book is written mainly in log entries. This made the pacing move right along. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next and how Mark would overcome the next obstacle, because the obstacles just kept coming.
I don't need to say much because you've probably heard it all before. I'm just glad I read this book and think you should too!
