Brightly Burning Bridges by Ivy Wild

dark emotional reflective fast-paced

3.5

Silas's heart is frozen. His walls so high to protect himself from everyone. Until he finds Skyler at one of his parties. He can't get her off his mind and finds himself entangled in loving her and hating her for having everything he doesn't. Ten years later their paths cross again. This time Skylars walls are up. Can Silas bring himself back into her good graces and will their emotions finally spill over and admit to each other how much they truly feel for one another?

I think I'm still processing this book. You'll definitely find at least one thing good about it. It has a little bit of everything second chance young love, enemies to lovers, money, sex, action and thrill. This is my first read by Ivy Wild. I couldn't put it down. I mean I finished this in under 24 hours!

The reason I couldn't rate this higher is just because I think I'm over the whole bully romance. I used to love a tense romance but now I just find it abusive and unhealthy and don't love promoting it anymore. I also found it strange that when they were 10 years in the past some of the references were still current references like tiger king and amazon prime which weren't popular in early 2010s. I would definitely read something again from Ivy if it wasn't so hot and cold on the abusive scale.

ARC gifted in return for an honest option!
