Quincy and Eliza had a whirlwind relationship in London years ago before he disappeared and broke her heart. This simple plot device is used often but feels fresh and revitalised with some little twists and J. Kenner’s signature tone and pace.
I have loved Quincy since he first appeared in Julie’s ‘Stark World’, and was so excited that he got his own novel. Shattered With You did not disappoint!
Reading about Quincy, this tortured man l, desperately try to protect everyone pulled at all my heart strings. Eliza is such a strong willed character and despite her awful childhood, what shines through is her will to create a positive life as an adult. The path to happiness is not easy for Quincy and Eliza, and we understand why with jumps back in time to their London days, but when they get there it is so rewarding.
